MINUTES OF CUB SCOUT LEADERS MEETING
on 25th January 2011.

There were apologies from Mark Killick and Ian Cox.
We welcomed Ian Welland and Darren Powell, new leaders with 28th and 100th respectively.
The minutes of the previous meeting were approved and then signed and everyone signed a get well card for Dave Owen.
A new pack has opened at 28th. The 2 packs are now called Pioneers and Adventurers. This gives us 14 packs in the District in total.

FEEDBACK FROM EVENTS

There are still some boards missing from scrapheap Challenge. Please can they be returned as soon as possible.

Swimming Gala – the pool manager rang and apologised afterwards for the lack of PA system and has only charged us school rates so the money we took on the door and raffle covered the pool hire. Disappointing numbers took part, plus some packs had a poor turn out on the night. We could easily have accommodated the scouts after all and had a joint gala. Note that team managers must stay with the teams on poolside. Thanks to all the leaders that helped running the event, we improvised well!

Visits – please let Jannette have your term’s programme as soon as possible so that she can visit. She is looking for smart uniform, scarves worn properly, register kept, fire drill practised, record keeping and pack calls used and responded to.

AOB

There then followed a very long discussion over what other events to put on as a district this year. Due to the programmes that the packs already have planned and the district camp in the autumn term it was finally decided only to run an athlete’s badge evening. Preference was for Robert Mays School in mid June.

Plan to do a District hike in 2012.

DATE OF THE NEXT MEETING
Tuesday 7th June, 8.15 for 8.30 pm at Crookham HQ, Basingbourne Road..
